Age: Open to students in the age groups of 10 and above based on the customisation of results delivered via one on one debrief sessions.

Definition of Emotional Intelligence for the purposes of self-development and education:
“A set of emotional and social skills that influence the way we perceive and express ourselves, develop and maintain social relationships, cope with challenges, and use emotional information in an effective and meaningful way.”

Emotional intelligence (EQ) as defined here and applied in the Emotional Quotient Inventory (EQ-i 2.0) reflects one’s overall wellbeing and ability to succeed in life.
The EQ-i 2.0® measures emotional intelligence (EQ) from the perspective of five major composite scales:
Self Perception Composite – Covering Self Regard, Self-Actualisation and Emotional Self-Awareness.
Self Expression Composite – Covering Emotional Expression, Assertiveness and Independence.
Interpersonal Composite – Covering Interpersonal Relationships, Empathy and Social Responsibility.
Decision Making Composite – Covering Problem Solving, Reality Testing and Impulse Control.
Stress Management Composite – Covering Flexibility, Stress Tolerance and Optimism.
Why is Emotional Intelligence (EQ) important in our world today?
While EQ isn’t the sole predictor of human performance and development potential, it is proven to be a key indicator in these areas. Emotional intelligence is also not a static factor; to the contrary, one’s emotional intelligence can change over time and can be developed in targeted areas.
Building the skill levels of students to be able to proactively recognise, understand and manage their own emotional states is a key factor in how they learn and succeed in their studies. Developing strong levels of EQ also equips young people to effectively deal with and overcome the barriers that they encounter in day-to-day life while studying. It also serves as great preparation for when they move from their studies out into the ‘real world’ of working, managing and coping with the pressures that they will experience as they progress in life.
Benefits to Students:
